What Should Your Client Know About You?
Hello, my name is Kayla Cruz, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University and have several years of experience working with children, adolescents, couples, and families across both school-based and clinical settings. My work is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based practices. I have supported clients through a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges, and I bring a warm, client-centered approach to each session.
What is your approach to therapy?
My therapeutic approach is integrative and personalized to meet the individual needs of each client. I draw from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. I also incorporate mindfulness, trauma-informed care, and Havening techniques to support emotional regulation and healing. I aim to provide a safe and supportive space where clients can foster growth, insight, and resilience.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Clients can expect to develop practical coping strategies, gain deeper insight into their emotional experiences, and build greater confidence in navigating life’s challenges. My goal is to empower clients through meaningful connection and skill-building, helping them move toward emotional balance, healthier relationships, and lasting personal growth.
